Frequently Asked Questions

Booking with confidence

Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. Plans change, we get it. Cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your tour and you get a full refund, no forms, no hassle. Inside 24 hours, or if you don’t show up, the booking is non-refundable, because the seat is held for you and we can’t fill it again by then. Rescheduling is always free up to 24 hours before, and you can move your date up to 6 months out (subject to availability, and a price difference only if the tour price has changed).

Our Happiness Guarantee
We pour everything into making your day great. If you join a tour and it doesn’t land for you, tell your host before the day is over. We’ll make it right there and then, and if we genuinely can’t, we’ll refund you. All we ask is the chance to fix it, that’s how we learn and get better. This is for guests who booked direct with us and joined the tour.

Is it safe? Physically and emotionally.
Physically, yes: Coast Guard watches every boat tour, we respect every weather call, and it’s the same local team since 2012. Solo women are looked after, always, no exceptions. Emotionally, absolutely: making sure nobody feels left out is literally the point of the day. We’ll pull you into the group, learn your name, and laugh at your jokes, even the bad ones. Especially the bad ones.

I’m coming solo, will I be the odd one out?
Not a chance, and this is the whole reason we exist. Most people come alone, so you’re in good company from the first minute. The hosts run the day so a boat of strangers actually talks, plays and ends up as friends. Coming solo is the normal way to do this, not the brave way.

Should I book ahead, or can I book when I arrive?
Honestly, book ahead. We’re not trying to pressure you, but we’d rather be straight: between our hostel partners and walk-in guests, boats fill up early, especially in season, and we hate turning people away at the door. The good part is booking early costs you nothing, you can still change or cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund. So the sensible move is to lock your spot now and adjust later if you need to, instead of hoping there’s room on the day. Prefer to book in person? In El Nido you’ll find us at two spots: on the Walking Street by the beachfront, and at our main booking office between Frendz Hostel and Cuna Hotel.

What are the payment options?
You can pay online by credit or debit card, or with PayPal. For card, click “Pay with PayPal” and choose “Pay with debit or credit card” at the bottom of the page. You can also pay cash in person at our booking office. Payment timing:

  • Tours starting within 24 hours: pay within 1 hour of booking.
  • Tours starting in 48 hours or more: pay at least 24 hours before the tour.

Unpaid bookings are released automatically once the time is up, so a spot is never held indefinitely.

Can I book on GetYourGuide, Klook or another platform?
Yes, and you’re welcome to. We’re listed on the big platforms, so if you’d rather use an account you already have, go for it. The one thing worth knowing: our Happiness Guarantee is for guests who book direct with us. If the day doesn’t land for you, we make it right or refund you. That’s ours to give, so we can only back it on bookings we hold ourselves.

Good to know

How big are the groups?
Our tours are shared, hosted group experiences, that’s the whole point, so expect roughly 20 to 40 people depending on the tour and the day. Big enough for real crowd energy, small enough that the hosts know everyone and nobody gets lost. Exact numbers vary by season.

Is there an age limit?
Our tours are built mainly for adults: solo travellers, couples and groups of friends from all over, and some parts are active (walking, light trekking, cliff jumping). We’re not really set up for families with young kids, but we won’t just turn you away, we can organise a private tour for your family, or point you to a partner whose vibe and crowd suit you better. Easygoing parents with cool kids do sometimes fit right into our regular tours too, because the day is about making friends, not going wild. Not sure what’s right for your group? Message us and we’ll be straight with you.

What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first, and the Philippine Coast Guard has the final say on the water. If bad weather or anything else outside our control means a tour can’t run and the Coast Guard cancels it, you get a full refund, or you reschedule, your choice. If the tour does run, the normal 24-hour policy applies.

Do you offer private tours?
We can organise one for you, yes. Our own tours are shared group experiences (that’s how we turn strangers into friends), so a private tour runs through a partner we trust rather than us directly. It usually takes a little back-and-forth to get the details right, so just message us here and we’ll sort it with you.

Do you offer travel packages (flights, hotel, tour)?
Not right now. We’re a tour operator, so we focus on the tours rather than flights or hotels. The good news is we work with loads of great hostels around town, so you’ll easily find a good place to stay near the meet-up. Our booking office happens to sit inside Frendz Hostel, so plenty of guests just stay there for the easy social vibe (it’s picked up “best hostel in the Philippines” on Hostelworld more than once). Wherever you land, message us and we’ll help you find the right fit.
